R.H. Phillips Founder & Vincor USA President John Giguiere Announces Departure

ESPARTO, California, January 5, 2005—John Giguiere, president of Vincor USA and founder of R.H. Phillips Winery, announced January 4, 2005, that he will leave the company in August 2005. Effective immediately, Giguiere will assume the newly created position of chairman, R.H. Phillips Winery, and Michael Jaeger assumes the role of president, Vincor USA.
John, Lane and Karl Giguiere founded R.H. Phillips Winery and introduced the R.H. Phillips brand in 1983. Under Giguiere’s guidance, the success of the R.H. Phillips brand was followed by the introduction of a range of other wine brands that included EXP, Toasted Head and Kempton Clark. In 1995 Giguiere took the company public and in 2000, Vincor International, the world’s 13th largest wine company by revenue, headquartered in Toronto, Canada, acquired the winery and Giguiere became president of Vincor’s USA operations—overseeing key elements of Vincor’s USA brand development and growth strategy.

Jaeger has over 20 years of experience in general management, marketing, operations, sales, strategic planning and new product development in the wine industry. Most recently Jaeger was a group president at Constellation Brands, where he was responsible for a broad portfolio of domestic and imported wine and beverage alcohol brands. In addition to the R.H. Phillips Winery, Vincor also owns The Hogue Cellars in Washington, Kim Crawford Wines in New Zealand, Goundrey Wines and Amberley Estate in Western Australia, Jackson Triggs and Inniskillin in Canada, and Kumala in South Africa.
