To Avoid Confusion . . .

Visitors to California Wine and Food and our sister publication, Taste California Travel, will notice the banner ad of California Wine Club near the top of both home pages.

Given
the similar names, readers might conclude that these three entities are
all part of the same operation, but that is not the case.

We publish two internet magazines and do not sell wine. They do sell wine and, by all accounts, do a very good job in that arena.

When California
Wine Club approached us about the possibility of advertising at our
sites, we were wary. This was not because we had any apprehension about
them—they’re a reputable company that has been in business for years.
However, in the past we had received e-mails and phone calls from
people assuming that they were reaching California Wine Club. Perhaps
that company had to field the occasional call from someone trying to
reach us, also.

Would running their ad lead to confusion on a larger scale, we wondered?

After
some deliberation we decided that we would welcome California Wine Club
to our electronic pages. We are pleased to have their advertising. We
invite our readers to click on their banner and check them out.
